Signed to DANR Music, Drlkt Freddie (pronounced Derelict Freddie) is a new production team/live act, comprised of DJ, producer and songwriter Van Scott and engineer and producer Jad Cooper. The group's first official release is a remix of "You've Changed," a classic vocal anthem by Lauren Flax featuring Sia, out on March 24, 2009. Other upcoming work includes remixes of new tracks by Princess Superstar and Junior Sanchez, which are both coming out on DANR Music.
Drlkt Freddie's first two original releases, "Airtight" (a French pop-influenced feel good jam) and "Blood" (a twisted, distorted bass and synth stomper), are set for release in late Spring/early Summer with a high-caliber set of confirmed remixers TBA.
To offer a preview of what is to come, Drlkt Freddie (white label) remixed "Poker Face" by Lady Gaga and transformed it into a wobble-bass banger!------------
About DANR MusicRecord label founder Alexander Technique is an international producer and DJ who co-founded music collective DJs Are Not Rockstars with Princess Superstar. The two of them toured and produced under the moniker for years. After holding down residencies at local NYC hotspots and continuing to take the DANR name around the world on international tour dates, Alexander Technique has expanded the concept to a record label of talented producers and DJs that will be turning out original releases and official remixes of the best underground and mainstream artists. DANR Music artists include Alexander Technique, Larry Tee, Lauren Flax, Van Scott, Jad Cooper and Drlkt Freddie.

Dj vs Vj vs CJ

Funny thing i guess my friends are not the only ones who have an opinion on the vinyl vs cd vs mp3 vs blog debate i took this from HRO enjoy
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"I never knew that so many people loved or hated turntables and laptop DJs. I guess it doesn't matter how many cool stickers u have on ur laptop. We might never know why we should take certain DJs seriously and laugh at other ones. Here are some notable comments on the Ableton Debate of 2k8. A lot of people made a lot of great points that should be highlighted. ***********Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Ableton Live Makes The World a More Creative Place...":
"actually" djing with turntables is for primitive faggots, if you seriously think being able to scratch a fucking record makes you better than someone using a computer youre a faggot cum homunculus with a tiny malformed penis *********ur all dork fggts has left a new comment on your post "Ableton Live Makes The World a More Creative Place...":
WHAT DO U LOOK 4 IN UR DJ?a) mad skillzb) good tastec) black mac books with cool stickerzd) "I'm not a DJ" teese) WHO CARES as long as ur dancing with HOT CRUNK ALT HOs ***********Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Ableton Live Makes The World a More Creative Place...":
WHO CARESNO ONE USES VINYL ANYMORE BECAUSE ITS STUPID. LIKE 30% OF THE SONGS I PLAY DONT EVEN EXIST ON VINYL BECAUSE THATS STUPID.SERATO SCRATCH IS THE EXACT SAME THING AS USING TRAKTOR EXCEPT YOU GET TO PRETEND YOU'RE A "REAL DJ" BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO BIG HUNKS OF CRAP IN FRONT OF YOU YOU TOUCH.MIXING WITH CDS IS BASICALLY THE SAME AS MIXING WITH VINYL BUT YOU CAN BURN THEMBUT VINYL ISNT "BETTER" ITS JUST WHAT EXISTED IN THE PAST. ITS NOT LIKE DUDES THAT DROVE CARS IN 1905 WERE ASSHOLES BECAUSE LIKE THEY TOTALLY NEVER LEARNED HOW TO RIDE A HORSE GOOD.MIXING WITH ABLETON IS DIFFERENT THAN THE ABOVE, BUT YOU CAN DO LOTS OF INTERESTING THINGSALL OF THE ABOVE ARE FINE OPTIONS NO ONE GIVES A FUCK EXCEPT FOR RETARDS AND NO ONE THAT IS ACTUALLY A REAL DJ OR REAL PARTIE BRO CARES ABOUT ANYTHING EXCEPT THE SOUND THAT COMES OUT.WELL SOME 40 YR OLDS ARE PISSED BECAUSE THE YOUNGINS NEVER HAD TO SPEND MONTHS LEARNING TO BEATMATCH MANUALLY- GOOD! BEATMATCHING MAKES THE PARTY SLIGHTLY BETTER SO IM GLAD IT HAPPENS MORE NOW.DJING IS 90% TRACK SELECTION, 5% SONG ORDER, 4% MIXING (WHICH CAN BE DONE VERY WELL WITH ALL THE ABOVE OPTIONS) AND 1% IF YOURE HOT/DANCING AROUND A LOT/HAVE A FUNNIE STICKER.IM GLAD IM THE FIRST PERSON WHO IS NOT A RETARD TO CMMNT HERE. ***********Anonymous has left a new comment on your post "Ableton Live Makes The World a More Creative Place...":

yeah, i'm glad people are talking about taste. it's more than just BNGRZ and the nunushit, it's about mixing the past and the present to push us to the FUTURE. future dance partie 4realll.speaking of the future, will there be enough weeklies to satisfy all macbook djs in five years?what will happen when ed banger crew can't fly around the world anymore because of fuel prices?when will someone host and promote the first ichat party? Does n e 1 wanna get buzzed and have an iChat partie?Should I make a flyer for it that is a GIF?Love yall cmmntrs. We are all just trying to find out why we should respect DJs. I hope we find out soon. I'm worried about all of the hate in the DJ scene." ...taken from hro...
