The Knux are ’Garage-Hop’ duo Krispy and Al Millio from New Orleans and their debut album ‘Remind Me In 3 Days’ has been likened to ’Outkast, Juvenile, Tha Pharcyde, and The Strokes concurrently blasting out of a drop-top Jag on Sunset Blvd on a Saturday night, in the summer’, so you get the picture.
Signed to Interscope records back in 2006, on paper the brothers (literally) sound like an unimaginative a&r departments wet dream, but the self produced duo have more than got the chops to pull it off.
Hurricane Katrina curtailed their plans, but following a management hook up with Paul (Eminem) Rosenberg and a subsequent move to the Hollywood Hills, plus an opening slot on Common’s ‘Finding Forever’ tour, big things are expected of The Knux in ‘08. Hail Social put out one of my favorite albums last year, Modern Love And Death — for reals. This was one of those special albums that felt like a complete album and not just a collection of songs or singles. A year later the band is back with a double disc remix album taking their late night jams to the dance floor. The biggest feat is it still manages to maintain that album feel.
